42. The sense of life.

A blog, a tree No, no Douglas Adams tribute, although his ingenious work would be worth it, nevertheless, here it is just the number of postings for this blog I publicised yet (some of them are in storage), not the meaning it has in the books. You all know the chliché for things you have to do in your life, you should plant a tree is one of it. Schultze Gets the Blues.

Today I'll write about a motion picture I watched recently that impressed me. Schultze Gets the Blues. Schultze - he is called like that all over the film, never by his first name - goes into retirement and all of a sudden, he does not know, what to do with his great amount of free time. All his life he was told what to do and now there's nearly nothing left. The motion picture has its own athmosphere. The camera is very special, you get the feeling you were watching some static photographs, no tracking shots in the first half, the sky is nearly always grey, the whole environment is sort of dismal and nothing ever changes, like living dead. Even the retirement present reminded me of a tombstone (an electric light made of salt stone). But then he discovers something new. Music... american music!
